Early last month I shared that I had plans in place to make 2010 simply amazing. Well, here’s one of the many ideas put into action allowing “clients to be” an awesome opportunity to meet with us and experience In His Image Photography in action before their wedding day!
Mini Engagement Sessions!
OK, these are not new. We instituted mini sessions in 2009. But read on … Our mini engagement sessions are ideal for so many reasons:
- Mini sessions are 45 min long photo sessions, on location or in our studio
- It provides an alternative to our full two hour session
- It includes a session disc of images great for sharing on email, facebook, or other social media sites.
- Mini sessions allow “clients to be” an excellent opportunity to experience In His Image Photography before making their wedding photographer decision!
And now, the promotional: Our mini engagement sessions are being offered for only $50! This represents a 50% savings, but time is of the essence – it expires on February 6th! To order your session and lock in this great opportunity, visit our online store by clicking here.
Below is an engagement session photo captured in August 2009. I did a little something different in this one by giving it an aged photo look. What do you think?

Fresh off a long hard week, my mind reflects not only on this week, but last year and the many weddings, events and portrait sessions we’ve been honored to participate in. 2009 was a great year for us, one I’ve said good bye to ever so affectionately.
Working hard to make your dream a success, even when you might not have enjoyed the journey until the culmination, reminds me of a couple who’s wedding we photographed back in 2008 in downtown Raleigh at the Long View Center. Reviewing the images, Jennifer barely smiled all day. Maybe it was her nerves: she planned the wedding herself, including responsibility for all the day of coordination. (Note to future brides: don’t do this! I can refer you to some awesome planners and coordinators.) But the recessional meant the hard work (planning, directing, and executing) was all over. And right when it sunk in, a smile all too rare for such an occasion broke through!
Here’s to happy endings! Whether it be the end of a tough week, good year (2009), or getting through your own wedding, happy endings makes it all worth it. And now I share Larry & Jennifer’s happy ending.

Happy New Year, 2010! This is not just “out with the old, in with the new”. I want to send a sincere thank you to all the families who allowed me to participate in their special occasions. Whether it was capturing their families wedding day, family or infant portraits, or even social events. It is an honor, one I don’t take lightly. Those occasions have become a part of my life now, and that brings a smile to my face.
As with every new year, resolutions are made, plans are formulated, and previous year’s assessments generally are an after thought
For me, all three are done! Not only have I evaluated 2009, but I’ve got plans in place for 2010, and I hope that you’ll take part in some of them. One (of the many) things I plan for 2010 is to photograph in new locations: venues I haven’t photographed a wedding at, places I haven’t done engagement sessions at, and bridal portraiture with amazing landscapes.
You’ll hear more about my efforts to fulfill 2010 resolutions. Until then, here is an image from a wedding photographed in St. Augusting, FL in 2009.

It’s true. It is the most wonderful time of the year. But for Charles & Lekisha, this time of the year now has one more reason for celebration. You see, the week before observing the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus the Christ, Charles & Lekisha celebrated their union to one another. The weather didn’t cooperate. Snow and freezing rain forced some to miss the ceremony. However, what God has joined together …, well, you know the rest.
I find it to be such a privilege when ask to provide professional wedding photography on one’s wedding day. But this day was different. This day I wasn’t just a professional wedding photographer. In my last wedding of the year, I present to you my brother and new sister in law, Charles & Lekisha.

You’ve planned, and you’ve waited. But now your day is here. Such was the case for Michael + Tyra who wedded at Cafe Luna in downtown Raleigh NC. How unique! How fitting! Their ceremony was officiated by Pastor Andy of World Overcomers in Durham, NC. Their bridal party was just that, a party! What a great group: fun, spontaneous, and loyal. Special thanks to Matthew for providing security during the formals
