Cara’s 60th Surprise Birthday Bash!!!

One of the great benefits of being a Raleigh Wedding Photographer is meeting all the family & friends of my wedding clients. After spending the day with them and having a great time, I often walk away with a few new friends of my own. Such was the case with Darrell & Bequitta’s Brier Creek Country Club wedding where I met Talitha, one of Bequitta’s bridesmaids. Talitha contacted me as she was planning a surprise birthday party for her mom, Cara. How sweet! Pulling this off wasn’t easy as Cara’s family and friends weren’t all local to Raleigh. But, that likely helped conceal the grandeur of the event. And guess what, the birthday party was being held at Brier Creek Country Club! DeJaVu? There’s more, Talitha brought in a really nice jazz band. (Talitha, I forgot the name of the group. Please add it in the comments below!) The leader of the group was the saxophonist and he got things going early as he serenaded Cara during her entrance to the country club. Talitha really, really knows how to throw a party. Demetris Faison: Celebrating Life!

I received a call from Candace Springs a few weeks ago inquiring if I would be available to photograph a birthday party. Now, this was a different inquiry for a couple reasons. First, Candace is with Creative Touch Designs which I have worked with on many weddings. To cover a birthday party for her was different. Secondly, this was not for client of theirs, but for Demetris Faison, the owner of Creative Touch Design! Right away I’m thinking, this is going to be BIG! I mean, have you seen their work?

Candace and team arranged a “somewhat” surprise gathering of friends and family to celebrate Demetris’ 20th birthday. Yes, that is not a typo. This amazing set designer and retail location owner has only just turned twenty! Although I wasn’t able to stay long (Saturday’s are a VERY busy day for a wedding photographer in Raleigh), I captured the following images for my friends. Happy birthday Demetris.

Banana Republic: Summer Charity Fashion Show 2010

One word: wonderful. Kendra Leonard (soon to be Woman of the Year) has done it again. The Banana Republic’s Summer Charity Fashion Show and Wine Tasting took place at the Renaissance Hotel at North Hills yesterday. Why? To benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Kendra and friends assembled an event showcasing Banana Republics latest fashions, with proceeds matched by the Gap, Inc! How fabulous is that!

Okay, if you missed this event, you missed the silent auction, the LIVE auction, the wine tasting, the Sullivan’s tasting (that’s better than food ya know), and one great fashion show star studded with the areas own Banana Republic employees. I can show you better than I can tell you, but it doesn’t stop just there. In doing our part to benefit the LLS, we are donating 100% of the proceeds from every image purchased from the shows gallery. Benefiting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society

We are proud to support the Summer Charity Fashion Show & Wine Tasting presented by the Banana Republic in benefit of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society on Sunday, May 16th. This is the second year In His Image Photography has donated services for this fund raising activity. Kendra Leonard, one of the event organizers, had this to share in addition to the flier:

The Banana Republic hosted their Summer 2009 Fashion Show in Raleigh, NC supporting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The event was held at the Marriott City Center on June 7th, 2009. It was our honor to photograph this event for them, supporting a worthy cause and a great event. The fashion show models were volunteers from area Banana Republic stores! They donned the latest in BR styles and strutted down the runway with style. In addition, a silent auction took place for items donated from various sponsors. In His Image Photography is committed to supporting causes and organizations that positively impact our community. Annually we’ve raised funds supporting Multiple Sclerosis research, programs, services, and advocacy via participation in the MS 150 in New Bern, NC. This year, we’re adding support for the American Diabetes Association through participation in the Tour de Cure in Cary, NC on June 6th & 7th.

On May 29th, May 30th, June 2nd and June 4th we’re holding special portrait sessions and contributing 100% of the earnings to the American Diabetes Association. All portrait sessions are $25 and include one 8×10 or two 5×7 portrait prints. Additionally, those who are fans of In His Image Photography on Facebook will receive a free digital copy of their print. Call or email us now to make your reservation.

Simply Elegant Bridal Expo May 2009, Raleigh Marriott City Center

Radio One put on their second semi-annual Simply Elegant Bridal Expo at the Raleigh Marriott City Center on May 17th, 2009. The expo was a hit, complete with seven unique seminars, special musical performances by Jason Little and Calvin Richardson, fashion shows by Hollywood Stylz, a meet & greet by Ginuwine.
