After two years of planning, their day has finally come. And with that, I had the opportunity to experience what Albany wedding photographers experience on a weekly basis: the beauty of Albany. Milton & Nikisha wedded at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Albany, NY this past Saturday, and I had the honor of photographing their wedding day. This wedding was a different kind of special for me because Milton is one of my first cousins. I refer to his mom simply as FAM, which is short for Favorite Aunt Maxcine. I know, I know, I shouldn’t chose favorites. I do, however, have more photos of my Aunt Michelle (always ready for the camera), so maybe I’ve balanced things somewhat. Maybe.
Weddings are always great because families and friends come together to celebrate the creation of a new family: the bride & groom. But on this day, it was my family coming together, which makes this wedding a different kind of special for me. To Milton and his new bride, I love you more than you know. Congratulations, and most importantly, God bless your marriage.
I don’t visit home (Albany, NY) nearly as much as I use to. But I’d love to photograph more weddings there, and consequently visit home a lot more often.
